Mizoram Board of School Education an autonomous body under the Act is MBSE, established in 1975 to settle with powers to monitor and control education in Mizoram. It is the state Education Board, which substantially contribute to the improvement of educational standards and introducing innovations in the field of school education ie Class I to XII.
The MBSE has three branches checking Branch, Academic Branch and General Administration Branch.The President appointed on a full time officer of the government contract services. It is to see the duty of the President that the provision of this Act, rules and regulations are observed among them is true, etc. The secretary is whole time officer appointed by the Government of Mizoram. He is under the control of the President and responsible for ensuring that the decisions of the Board are carried out.
